OVER
90,000 ATTENDEES CAN'T BE WRONG!
"Long Hours"
and "Long
Days during conventions and trade shows are commonly
put in by everyone. The results is
usually "Sore Bodies" and "Fatigued Minds".
We have been the in-house chair massage
provider at the nation's second largest
convention center, Orlando's Orange County Convention Center for over
four years.
We have massaged over 90,000 exhibitors and attendees during the first four
years at this
facility alone. Seeing everything from headaches and stiff necks to leg
cramps and swollen feet.
One attendee said " It's like finding an Oasis in the middle of a
desert!" Another one said,
"Chair Massage should be at every events". Of course we agree,
hopefully as a show manager
you will too. Read more below or just contact us about getting massage for your
next event.
First,
How
effective is chair massage?
A
controlled study, conducted at UM School of Medicine, Duke and Georgetown
Universities.
A group of subjects received 10-15-minute chair massages and
another group rested for the same
period of time. Subjects who received the
chair massages, EEG results showed that they had a
decrease in alpha and beta brain waves (indicating greater alertness) and an
increase in delta waves,
suggesting they were more relaxed.
They worked math computations
faster and more accurately than
the group who
only rested for the same period of time.
So
according to
Dr. Tiffany Field, University of Miami School of Medicine,
“Any one who needs to stay alert and focused should get a
"massage"
–quick!”
Field, Ironson, Pickens et al.
(1996). Massage therapy reduces anxiety and enhances EEG
pattern of alertness and math computations.
